The Senate was informed that the country has suffered a loss of 69 billion dollars in the war against terror.
Minister of State for Interior Imtiaz Safdar Warraich told the House during question hour that the loss occurred under a broad spectrum including damage of buildings‚ compensation paid to the victims of terrorism‚ settlement and rehabilitation of Internally Displaced Persons and security measures and similar other factors.
To a question‚ he said that 145 cases of murder‚ kidnapping and dacoity have been registered in the 2 police stations of the city circle Islamabad during the last 5 years. He said 225 accused persons have been arrested in these cases and 21 cases have been decided while the trial of the remaining is underway.
These are only financial losses PLUS,social? cultural?,religious?, state solidarity and integrity?,internal terrorism? And diverting resources to non developmental activities? . . .
