Explosives smuggling continuation of ‘Afghan Jihad’: IG Sindh

Sindh IG Ghulam Shabir Shaikh has said that Kalashnikovs, bombs, bullets and explosives are not manufactured in Karachi but are smuggled from tribal areas and Afghanistan, terming the activity as the continuation of ‘Afghan Jihad’.

Talking to media at Garden police headquarters after offering funeral prayers of a policeman Gul Sher, the Sindh IG said that terrorism is raised in the country due to Afghan war.

Policeman Gul Sher was killed on Monday night when he was on the way home after performing his duty from Ghulshan Ghazi area of Baldia town.

Since the new Inspector General Police Sindh province knows very well that the arms and ammunition used by terrorist and ethnic organizations in Karachi are smuggled from the tribal areas, it should not be very difficult to stop the supply by enforcing strict surveillance. However, if he can't control it for some reasons he should expose all such elements who are involed in this trade.
