Antonio Banderas is set to star in a flick about the 33 Chilean miners who were trapped underground for two months. The Hollywood heartthrob has joined the cast of ‘Los 33’ which reveals how the men survived their incredible ordeal while the world watched with bated breath, the Daily Star reported. Film director Patricia Riggen confirmed that the Spanish actor will star in the movie. “Antonio Banderas will be part of our team of actors. We’re very happy to have him in the cast. But he’s just the first one confirmed. There will be many more,” she said. The story revolves around miners, who were imprisoned 2,300ft below ground after a cave-in at the San Jose mine in the Atacama Desert, 500 miles north of the capital Santiago, in August 2010. They spent 17 days eating just two spoons of tuna, a few sips of milk and half a biscuit a day before they were located in an underground refuge.
