President, PM take notice of vandalism against Christians in Lahore

President Asif Zardari on Saturday took notice of torching of the houses of Christians by a mob in Badami Bagh Lahore and has called for a report into this unfortunate incident.
President’s spokesman Farhatullah Babar said that the president while expressing grave concern over the incident had directed the authorities concerned to ensure safety and security of lives and property of the citizens.
The president said that safeguarding the rights of all citizens – Muslims and non-Muslims – was one of the main responsibilities of the government and it would continue undertaking every effort for protection of their rights as enshrined in the Constitution of Pakistan. He said that such acts of vandalism against minorities tarnish the image of the country. Zardari directed the authorities concerned that no one should be allowed to take law into his hands and that the law and order should be ensured, the spokesman added.
Separately, Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf also took notice of the incident and issued directions for expeditious inquiry of the violence. The premier issued directions for taking measures to stop recurrence of such incidents in the future. Christians, he said, were equal citizens of the land and should be given complete protection.

  1. I don't remember such like statements coming from these two idiots on more horrific incidents in Quetta and Karachi. This statement came so quickly because it happened in Punjab. Politics all the way. No body cares for the law and order or loss of life or property.

How it is sad that when Karachi Abbasi town blast iccured neither Presiedent nor PM spoke anything on this incident,although they were in Karachi at that time.But suddenly woke up when Lahore blast took place.It show how central is agaisnt Punjab government.Rehman Malik indicated very early but why no actions were taken to stop these untowrd happenings.Offcourse these blasts are nonsense,deplorable and condemnable and Islam does not allow to play with the lives of innocent people and we protest over these vrtual killings.Instead blaming on PMLN the PPP co-alliance government must be open mind and why they do not condemn and control the worse situation in Karachi and why Central government is hiding its weakness/

The doubts come in the picture that Central government is behind this deplorable scene as they konw ,then why they do not extend the hands of co-operation with the government of Shahbaz Sharief.PPP does hide its weak points as they are not capable to rule Pakistan any more in future.We condemn misbehavior of PPP government All tese are ahainst democratic spirit and to please its masters from abroad.INN SHAH PML NAWAZ IS COMING WITH FULLY SUPPORT OF POOR PEOPLE.AND ALL THE DEVILS WILL BE KICKED OUT.

  6. the way zardari-ppp,mqm-altaf,sattar,raza haroon are ploitical exploiting most deplorable lahore incident of christian houses burnt-shows their hand into it as they are adding fire to the fuel.it appears the protests on streets of lahore are backed by workers of mqm,pppz.why not stop 25 years target killings of karchi,mr president of your coalition partners

  8. quite tired of this finger pointing at the govt. being punjabi and punjab controlled. It is inevitable that there will be more punjabis in govt. given it is the most populous state? Should punjabis start pointing fingers that our country is going through misery while a Shia Sindhi is president? thats ridiculous. time to get beyond that and help the nation. hold politicians accountable. Make their life hell until every pakistani shia, sunni, ahmedia, christian, hindua, sikh, kalash etc. get to live in PEACE
