A Pakistani fish seller, Mohammad Shahid Nazir who sold fish in a UK fish market by singing, on Sunday signed a record deal with Warner Music after his One Pound Fish song went viral.

Mohammad Shahid Nazir is recognised for his musical style of selling fish to customers at Queen’s Market, Upton Park, London.

He attracted customers with his One Pound Fish song with the catchy jingle, “Come on ladies, come on ladies, have a, have a look, one pound fish. Very, very, good, very, very cheap, one pound fish.”

The video of his song was uploaded online which received about 3.6 million views on YouTube, making him famous for being the One Pound Fish Man. He was therefore approached to sign a deal of one more tune with Warner, which would released as a single song this December.

Nazir said, “People have come from Australia, the US, Canada and all over Europe. They don’t come here to work or shop; they come for One Pound Fish Man.”

Mohammad Shahid Nazir is a 31-year-old married man. His family includes his wife and four children who reside in Pakistan whereas Nazir earns for them at Queen’s Market in London. He said that he was asked to shout for selling fish by his boss but he refused to shout and thus composed his own song.
