State Department spokesperson, Victoria Nuland has said that her country supports Pakistan- India ties and high-level talks.
In a press briefing, the spokesperson said that the Pakistan Prime Minister, Raja Pervaiz Ashraf’s visit to India augurs well. Some progress has been made in relation to visa, traveling facility and economic matters between Pakistan and India, she said.
US has always supported positive headway in Pak- India relations. Pakistan and India are improving their relations on diplomatic level, US spokesperson said.
She once again expressed reservations on Pak-Iran gas pipeline project and hoped that Pakistan would not go in a direction that would cause US to impose sanctions on it.
“I spoke about it quite extensively yesterday. Just to be absolutely clear again, if this deal is finalised for a proposed Iran-Pakistan pipeline, it would raise serious concerns under our Iran Sanctions Act,” Ms Nuland said.
She added that the US was involved in many ways to help Pakistan address its energy needs.

I think whether it is private visit or not, the visit is very important for both country because after the hanging of Afsal Guru, the relations of both nations have some spark of clashes in everyone’s mind..So, Pakistan prime minister’s visit India will make strengthen the relations of each country..With the invitation of Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh, French President Francois Hollande, already visited to India. It was really a great visit and it could make the relations of India and French so sturdy. Hope the same will happen in India and Pak relations too…
Pakistani PM visit India but He is boycotted by Spiritual Head of Ajmer Shrine Syed Zain Ul Abdin…to show his protest against brutal beheading of Indian Soldier by Pakistani Army…He is not warm welcomed here….however it was the duty of govt to arrange his pilgrimage in India…but Pakistanis never learned anything from Past.
