The Islamabad High Court on Friday dismissed the bail plea of former director general of Haj affairs Rao Shakeel in the Haj corruption case. The court reserved the verdict after counsel for the accused completed his argument on Friday. The lawyer told the court his client had been in prison for the last two years despite the fact that he had not caused any delay in trial. He prayed to the court that his client be released on bail as former religious affairs minister Hamid Saeed Kazmi was released on bail on the same grounds. Federal Investigation Agency prosecutor Chaudhry Zulfiqar told the court that the trial could not be concluded due to the delaying tactics being used by the accused.
