Cop among three killed, 2 political activists injured

A policeman was shot dead while two other persons were injured in a firing incident here on Saturday.
According to police, the incident occurred in Shah Town, Bin Qasim.
The deceased policeman was identified as Ali Gohar. The injured persons were political activists, sources told.
Police registered cases of the incident and started investigations.
Meanwhile, two people were killed in separate mishaps in the city.
A speeding vehicle hit to death a 35-year-old bike-rider, Syed Aziz Iqbal, son of Syed Iqbal Ali, near Nazimabad underpass, within the remit of Nazimabad police station. The body was moved to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital (ASH) for medico-legal formalities.
Police said the man was going somewhere on a motorcycle when a fast-moving vehicle hit and injured him critically. The man succumbed to injuries before reaching the hospital. The victim was resident of Dastagir Colony, FB Area, the police said.
Separately, the floating body of a man, aged around 28, was found from a drain in Sikanderabad, Clifton, within the jurisdiction of Jackson police station. The identity of the victim could not be ascertained yet. The body was brought to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) for an autopsy.
