No society based on injustice and cruelty can survive: CM

Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Shahbaz Sharif on Thursday said no society based on cruelty and injustice could survive or prosper. Talking to complainants from Haveli Lakha, Okara and Sialkot in Model Town, the CM said those who molested women and girls were a blotch on the society and deserved maximum punishment.
He assured the affected families that no effort would be spared to provide justice to them and ensuring due punishment to the culprits, and directed the Okara DPO to take immediate steps for ensuring punishment under the law to the criminals.
The CM gave cheques of Rs 500,000 to the family of a girl of Haveli Lakha, Okara who was raped and a cheque of Rs 300,000 to the children of a person of Sialkot who was murdered.
He said the Punjab government had provided all available resources to the police for the eradication of crime. He said elements involved in heinous crimes deserve no leniency and would be awarded harsh punishment. He said no society based on cruelty and injustice can survive or prosper. Talking to the family of the victim who was killed in Sialkot, he said immediate justice will be provided to the victims.
