Lahore High Court (LHC) will rule on the Zardari dual-office case on March 18.
A four-member bench headed by LHC Chief Justice Umer Ata Bandial heard the case on Friday.
Government’s lawyer Wasim Sajjad did not appear before the court and additional attorney general presented a written request on behalf of the federation to defer the case.
Bandial said the court has been hearing the case for the past eight months and the matter could not be delayed further. He ordered that the federation’s lawyer give final arguments in the next hearing.
Lawyers of the petitioner told the bench that President Zardari is continuing with political activities despite clear court orders in this regard. Newspaper reports relevant to the case were also presented before the court.
