Kite flying continues unhindered in Rawalpindi

The officials of City District Government Rawalpindi and Rawalpindi Police failed to curb kite flying and the mayhem created under the pretext of Basant celebrations in Rawalpindi.

Residents of Aria Mohalla, Nadeem Colony, Muslim Colony, Norani Colony, Tipu Road, Chamanzar Colony, Tench Bhata, Bakra Mandi Chungi No 22, Rawal Road and other areas celebrated Basant night.

“They flied kites and played music loudly on their rooftops during the night while the concerned authorities did not take any action against the violators of the ban,” a resident said.

Some residents of the area also complained to the police regarding the noise pollution created by the loud music but police officials did not turn up to stop the violation.

Moreover, sale of kites and strings was also being carried out unhindered in different parts of the city.
