CNG body threatens hunger strike on 12th

To exert pressure on the government before it is dissolved for elections, All Pakistan CNG Association has threatened to go on hunger strike on March 12 if their demands were not met.
Owners of CNG filling stations came from all over the country, including Sindh and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to accuse the Petroleum Ministry and Ogra of not issuing marketing licences to many stations for over 18 months despite instructions from the prime minister and the judiciary.
Ghiyas Paracha, chairman of APCNGA, said that the petroleum ministry has been using illegal measures to discourage CNG sector for the past five years. Paracha added that the hunger strike had been originally planned on March 11. However, the Iran-Pakistan Gas Pipeline is scheduled to open on that day thus hunger strike would be held on March 12.
