Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly Nisar Ali Khan on Wednesday said the PML-N had short-listed three candidates for the caretaker prime minister. The short-listed candidates include Rasool Baksh Paleejo, Justice (r) Nasir Aslam Zahid and Justice (r) Shakirullah Jan.
Addressing a press conference, Nisar said he would be replying to Prime Minister Raja Pervaiz Sharaf’s letter tomorrow (Thursday).
Meanwhile, talking to a private TV channel, Minister for Religious Affairs Khurshid Shah said the name of the caretaker prime minister would be announced before March 16, adding that President Asif Ali Zardari would announce the date of the election after consulting all four chief ministers.
Shah said every conspiracy of postponement of elections would be made unsuccessful and elections will be held on time.
“The interim government will be installed the moment the clock strikes 12 on March 16,” the minister said, adding that elections in all provinces would be conducted on the same day.

  1. Make a taxi driver the caretaker but not these retired judges, so far we have seen the (much touted) Fakhroo bhai's performance.

  2. Bro Khalid this is problem with our nation they are going to too emotional just in a moment. How can a taxi driver can perform when an retired judge could not perform. This is a mindset of our nation when they casted their vote for Zardari Co. and other mafiya in last election.

  3. It is a joke.PML N just wanted to gain sympathies of nationalists, they also know it Mr Palejo should protest why his name was sent. This shows our future is really bright.I still maintain we must have new and clean faces

  4. Where so called educated prime ministers haven't shown any mentionable performance a taxi driver or a fruit seller are equally appropriate candidates for the seat. If the Chief Election Commissioner also takes charge of the seat he's acceptable as the main function of the caretaker govt is to hold elections 2013 in scheduled time & fairly.
