Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf on Wednesday said the Pakistan People’s Party was the only party that raised the voice of the common man and down trodden people.
Talking to workers of the Pakistan People’s Party belonging to the federal capital, he said the people could see themselves the difference between dictatorships and democracy after the successful completion of tenure by the present government. Ashraf said the workers of the party were like a family that was spread all over the country.
“The PPP has presence in every part and area of the country”. The PM said it was PPP that raised the voice of the common man and down trodden and other political parties subsequently were forced to follow.
Referring to the politics of reconciliation pursued by the present government, he said all political parties represented in parliament remained allies of PPP at one time or another.
The prime minister said he hailed from the middle class family and understood the impact of inflation and unemployment on the common man. He reminded the workers of the challenging circumstances in which the government had been working.
Ashraf said the PPP had rendered great sacrifices for the cause of democracy in the country and the president voluntarily transferred his powers to parliament.
The prime minister urged party workers to go into the field and campaign for their candidates with the confidence that the PPP had many achievements to its credit.
