Following the massive blast in Abbas Town on Sunday, Rangers conducted a search operation against banned terrorist outfits in various areas of the metropolitan and claimed to have arrested dozens of suspects.
The Rangers arrested suspects from Bakhar Goth near Abul Isphani Road and Lines Area.
Sources said the paramilitary troops cordoned off the areas and searched various houses after receiving a tip-off that some suspects were hiding in the locality.
Rangers’ commandos also recovered illegal arms, including machine guns and pistols, during the operation while rounding up more than a dozen suspected criminals.
On the other hand, the residents of the above mentioned areas said that instead of troubling innocent citizens, Rangers should take action against real terrorists.
Meanwhile, Rangers arrested three suspects, including a would-be suicide bomber, on the outskirts of the metropolitan.
Sources said that the paramilitary troops swooped down on a locality near New Sabzi Mandi area and arrested the accused. A suicide vest and other weapons were also recovered from their possession.
The raid was conducted on the basis of information received from the suspects arrested from different parts of the city in operations undertaken a few days ago.
