CNS visits ships of foreign navies

Chief of the Naval Staff (CNS) Admiral Muhammad Asif Sandila on Wednesday visited different ships of foreign navies participating in the multinational exercise AMAN 2013.
Upon his arrival, the naval chief was presented a guard of honour by smartly turned out contingents of the respective ships. He met officers and men onboard and appreciated their participation in this international exercise.
The naval chief visited ships of friendly countries of Turkey, China, United Arab Emirates, Malaysia, Sri Lanka, United Kingdom, Australia, Bangladesh and Italy where he was briefed on the operational capabilities of the visiting navies. While recording his remarks in the visitors’ book, the naval chief stated that the exercise AMAN would further strengthen ties among the participating navies which would also help in devising a common strategy to curb the menace of terrorism at high seas.
During his visit to the Chinese ship, Admiral Sandila observed that Pakistan and China enjoyed long standing friendly ties. He hoped that these cordial relations would be further consolidated and mutual cooperation in defence sector would also be enhanced in the future.
Meanwhile friendly matches of football, basketball and squash were also played among teams of the participating navies.
