Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah on Monday urged the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) to put Interior Minister Rehman Malik’s name on the Exit Control List (ECL), claiming Malik will flee the country after March 16.
Speaking to reporters after inaugurating an X-ray department at General Hospital, Sanaullah said Malik had been doing politics on the blood of innocent people for the past five years and knew in advance about all acts of terrorism that happened in the country.
He said Malik was intimidated by the increasing popularity of PML-N in Sindh and Balochistan, and was giving absurd statements. He said the minister was a liar and no one trusted his words.
Referring to Malik’s accusation regarding existence of Lashkar-e-Jhangvi headquarters in Punjab, Sanaullah said why had Malik not shared such information with the provincial government. Such remarks, he said, won’t conceal the performance of the Interior Ministry.
He predicted that Malik would escape from Pakistan after March 16. He urged the need to demonstrate national harmony against ongoing acts of terrorism in the country.
The Punjab law minister claimed more members of the PPP and Q-League were going to join the PML-N soon.
He said the PPP leadership had utilised all energies in looting the national exchequer during the past five years.
Commenting on the statement of Manzoor Wattoo, the minister said that the government of PPP did not take serious steps to eradicate terrorism.
