A blast at a hospital in Khyber tribal region’s Jamrud area on Tuesday left a lady health worker (LHW) injured and damaged a room being used as a polio vaccination centre.
Assistant political agent (APA) Jehangir Azam Wazir told reporters that the bomb was planted in the bathroom of the hospital and that the watchman and guards posted on duty at the hospital have been detained for investigations.

Official sources told that the blast rocked the building . It was the second day of the anti-polio vaccination being conducted in the area.
Meanwhile the Bomb disposal unit defused a bomb averting a huge sabotage bid in Maryam Zai area of Mattani in the outskirts of Peshawar.
The AIG Bomb Disposal Unit Shahfqat Malik told that the road side Improvised Explosive Device (IED) defused by the unit weighed about 12 kilograms adding that the home-made device could have caused huge damage.
According to surgeon doctor Sameen Shanwari, some unidentified miscreants planted explosive device at a wall of office of lady health workers of Civil Hospital in the area which went off with big bang, injuring two women including a lady health worker.
The office of the hospital was also damaged in the blast.
