Water shortage at Babu Lal Hussain Road, Ratta Amral and the adjacant localities of Rawal Town, turned life miserable for residents of these areas.
Talking to APP, residents of Babu Lal Hussain Road complained they were facing great difficulties due to water shortage.
The residents said water was not being supplied to their areas since the last two months, and the Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) had not taken the any corrective steps to ease their life. The residents were compelled to purchase water tankers at exorbitant rates due to water shortage.
They demanded the concerned authorities to take notice of the situation and ensure regular supply of water to the residents.
When contacted, WASA spokesman said that tube wells of Babul Lal Hussain Road were not functioning due to the low water level, adding that the water problem would be resolved within a few days.
He said people who did not get water in their houses should directly lodge complaints with WASA and the latter would provide free of cost water tankers to them.
