Punjab government on Monday cancelled three Turk companies’ bids for the award of contract of sanitation of five districts of the province including Rawalpindi.
According to sources, the bids were too high and therefore they had been cancelled and the companies were asked to submit their tenders again.
It is pertinent to mention here that the Punjab government had decided to form solid waste management companies for the sanitation of Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Multan, Faisalabad and Sialkot on the lines of Lahore, and hire private companies for the task.
Lahore Solid Waste Management Company had been hired as a consultant in the process and would be paid a fee of Rs 5 million by each of the districts.
