No Shia-Sunni clash in Karachi: Dr Farooq

Deputy Convener of MQM Dr Farooq Sattar on Monday ruled out any clash between Shias and Sunnis in Karachi.
Addressing a press conference in Karachi, the MQM leader had termed the Abbas Town incident as “national tragedy” in which more than 48 innocent were martyred and 150 injured.
Dr Farooq expressed regret over the indifferent attitude of some political parties regarding terrorist activities in Karachi.
He said there was no ethnic difference in Karachi but a conspiracy was being hatched to divide people on sectarian grounds.
He said that banned organisations were involved in terrorist activities for targeting innocent people especially children, women and old people. They were giving an impression of ethnicity to achieve their malicious plans, he added.
The MQM leader while criticising the government and law enforcing agencies, said that they have failed to maintain law and order situation in the country particularly in Karachi.
He demanded of the government to facilitate the injured by providing best medical treatment and compensation amount for reconstruction of their houses and shops.
He also asked the people to constitute Mohallah Committee and Chowkidari system for their own protection.
