Islamabad Inspector General of Police Bani Amin Khan said on Monday that Islamabad police was working hard to come up to the expectations of citizens.

He said special focus was being given to eradicate crime through the involvement of the community in policing affairs.

Talking to media personnel on Monday at a ceremony of Islamabad Traffic Police, the IGP said policing was a service oriented job and every police official must serve humanity with devotion.

He said Islamabad Police was determined to ensure protection to the lives and property of the citizens and no stone would be left unturned to accomplish this responsibility.

The IGP said Islamabad police had arrested a couple a few days ago for killing a ten-year old girl, Shehzadi Bibi, whose body was recovered from a dry gutter. The accused also confessed to involvement in another murder.

Bani Amin Khan said he was shocked after he came to know about the tragic death of the innocent girl and assured that every possible effort was being made to punish the culprits.

“Our efforts brought results and my conscious is satisfied now,” the IGP said, adding that culprits of this incident had been booked and would be punished as per the law.
