Information Minister Qamar Zaman Kaira has said that extremist parties are once again getting united in the country.
Talking to reporters in Lahore on Monday, the minister said that people had to decide whether to elect the extremists or those who were fighting against them.
Kaira said that Pak-Iran gas pipeline agreement was in the interest of the country. He said the government would continue to take decisions in the interest of the country in future also.
Commenting on upcoming elections, he said that general elections would be held on time.
Meanwhile‚ addressing the oath-taking ceremony of Desk Editors Forum in Lahore‚ the minister said that the Pakistan People’s Party-led government believed in freedom of press. He said a Journalist Victims’ Fund would be activated this year to facilitate the community.
He said work on 8th Wage Board Award for journalists would be completed soon.
