PM, Qatari prince discuss bilateral relations

Royal Prince of Qatar Sheikh Ali Bin Abdullah Al Thani on Friday called on Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf and discussed matters of bilateral interests. The prince said that Qatar and Pakistan enjoyed brotherly relations, adding that Qatar’s government had recently constructed a model village in Rahim Yar Khan district comprising 200 houses of two rooms each‚ two schools‚ a play ground‚ mosques and a shopping area. He said the village was constructed to rehabilitate people displaced by recent floods. Sheikh Ali Bin Abdullah Al Thani said that the government of Qatar planned to construct more of such model villages in Pakistan. Appreciating the interest taken by the royal family of Qatar‚ the Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf said that this showed the love and affection of the royal family and people of Qatar for the people of Pakistan. Moreover, he said that Qatar had always stood by Pakistan in times of need. Sheikh Ali Bin Abdullah Al Thani informed the prime minister that Qatar had made investments in Pakistan and was exploring new opportunities to invest more in the country.
