The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has included the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) in the list of political parties eligible to apply for election symbol for the forthcoming general elections.
A press release issued by the commission said that the decision had been taken after the MQM submitted all consolidated statements of accounts from 2008 to 2012.
Earlier, the MQM issued a handout saying it had submitted a consolidated statement of accounts for the year 2010, which was pending according to the ECP’s record.
