Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI) Sindh, Secretary General Khalid Mehmood Soomro and other party leaders said on Saturday that fair and transparent elections are not possible in the presence of what they termed political governors in the country.
In a statement, the JUI leaders said that there was need to bring neutral governors in the country so as to hold fairly the next general elections. The JUI leaders said that Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) was already vague to implement the Supreme Court verdict about delimitation of the constituencies in Karachi as its attitude towards voter lists verification was not satisfactory. They said that bloodshed in Karachi was at a high level while sectarianism was also being fanned in Sindh.
