Extradition of former Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) Chairman Tauqeer Sadiq has been delayed, a private television channel reported on Friday.
Sadiq was presented before the Abu Dhabi court on Thursday where the court was to deliver Sadiq’s deportation orders, however the court ordered him to appear again on March 9th.
Two officers of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) have been stationed in Dubai to fly the accused to Pakistan, but following the court’s order, the matter of Sadiq’s extradition from UAE has been delayed.
So Tauqeer Sadiq would be handed over to the Pakistani High Commission after legal formalities are resolved.
Whose interest Abu Dhabi Court is protecting by delaying the extradition of a criminal who has defrauded the exchequer of Pakistan to the tune of 85 billion rupees? This gives the impression that they are a party to it.
