Govt jacks up petrol prices by up to Rs 3.53 per litre

The government has approved an upward revision in petroleum products prices, which will take effect from March 1 (today). The Ministry of Petroleum has given a go-ahead to a giant leap of Rs 3.53/litre in petrol prices bringing the new price up at Rs 106.60/litre. The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority has also increased the prices of diesel by Rs 4.35/litre, light diesel by Rs 3.93/litre and kerosene by Rs 3.79. Henceforth, diesel, light diesel and kerosene oil will be retailed at Rs 113.56, Rs 98.26 and Rs 103.69 per litre, respectively.
