Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI) Chief, Maulana Fazal-ur-Rehman met with US Ambassador Richard Olson on Thursday and apprised him of decisions reached in the All Paries’ Conference (APC).

Fazl and the ambassador discussed a possibility of holding talks with Taliban for restoring peace .

Earlier on Thursday, the APC, discussed strategies to restore peace in the country’s militancy-hit tribal areas and said that Pakistan should initiate peace talks with Taliban and other militants.

The APC summoned by the Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) and attended by political parties and tribal elders agreed on holding a Tribal Jirga and using it as a platform to usher in peace negotiations with those killing the citizens of Pakistan.

  1. So first Nawaz and now Fazal, why i am not surprised they are trying to woo US to make them next puppies for Islamabad!

  2. There are two parties who have greatly benefitted from the political drama staged in Islamabad in the name of APC. Maulana Fazlu-Rehman, who has established himself to be the man having some influence on TTP and TTP itself who achieved much needed recognition from the frightened leaders. It may be kept in mind that the said Maulana was snubbed by Afghan Taliban when they refused to see him in Qatar. http://www.allvoices.com/contributed-news/1414840
