Residents of Gulbai area of the city staged protest against land mafia and police on Thursday which caused severe traffic jam in Hawksbay, Mauripur, Shershah and Lyari.
A large number of protesters including women and children, blocked roads, burnt tyres and staged a sit-in against the role of police and land mafia that, they said, had troubled their life in Gulbai.
The protesters said police supported criminals and did not take any action against them.
They demanded immediate action against criminals of the area so that the residents could lead a peaceful life.
