Federal Interior Minister Rehman Malik on Thursday filed a plea in the Supreme Court, seeking unconditional apology from apex court in the contempt of court case.
A Supreme Court bench heard the contempt notice against Rehman Malik for allegedly influencing the investigation in the Pakistan Steel Mills case. During the hearing, the interior minister filed an unconditional apology to the court saying that he never think of committing contempt of the judiciary.
Subsequently, the court adjourned the hearing of the contempt case till March 16.
Later, speaking to media persons outside the Supreme Court, Rehman Malik said that he wanted to fight his case himself, adding that he had increased the canvas of investigation in the case. The minister said that he would continue to expose militant outfits in the country.
