Separate directorate for college sector essential, says welfare association

The employees of Islamabad Model Colleges and Schools Employees Welfare Association on Wednesday said that the government’s decision of forming a separate directorate for all model colleges would help strengthen the education system in the capital.

The employees suggested the idea of having a separate directorate for the college sector and said it would enhance the efficiency of all the model colleges including old ones and newly renamed FG institutes, resolving the issues of teachers and other staff.

Senior vice president of the association, Abdul Rauf condemned the behavior of the FG teachers who were propagating against the renaming of their institutes as Islamabad Model Colleges and said

“All parents, students of model colleges and citizens of capital strongly condemn such propaganda by FG teachers who are trying to play with the future of the students,” he said.

He said all citizens, students and parents had been demanding that all colleges of ICT must be run through a separate directorate as per the directives of the prime minister to provide good quality education to the students.
