The Supreme Court of Pakistan (SCP) on Wednesday withdrew show-cause notice for contempt of court against Sindh Inspector General of Police (IGP) Fayyaz Ahmed Leghari which it issued on Tuesday for hiding facts from the court.
The notice was withdrawn after the IGP tendered a written apology and assured the court that action would be taken against all police officers involved in crimes of different nature.
The bench was hearing a case pertaining to Karachi law and order situation at the apex court’s Karachi Registry.
The IGP Fayyaz presented the names of around 800 police officers who were dealing with important cases.
