Senate passes CTPEI bill, Vows repatriation of Aafia Siddiqui

The Senate on Tuesday unanimously passed “The Islamabad Capital Territory Private Educational Institutions (Registration and Regulation) Bill, 2013”.

The bill facilitates the government for registration, regulation and functioning of private educational institutions in Islamabad Capital Territory. The Bill was moved by Minister for Capital Administration and Development Nazar Muhammad Gondal.

The Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto Medical University (PIMS), Islamabad Bill, 2013 was also introduced in the House. The chair referred the bill to the concerned committee of the House and sought report latest by Thursday.

Replying to a call attention notice moved by Muhammad Mohsin Khan Leghari and Ishaq Dar regarding partial award of the international court of arbitration on Kishanganga hydro electricity project in response to Pakistan’s appeal for interim measure against the dam, Minister of State for Water and Power Tasneem Ahmad Qureshi informed the House that in the short order Pakistan’s reservations have been considered and final judgment will be announced in December this year. He said the “judgment is not against Pakistan rather it is in our favour”.

Speaking on the occasion, Farhatullah Babar said the court has given its verdict on one question out of two. He said according to the decision the minimum flow of water that has been granted under the Indus Water Treaty will be ensured and it is victory of Pakistan. Leader of the Opposition Ishaq Dar along with Mohsin Leghari, Raja Zafarul Haq, Kamil Ali Agha, Zafar Ali Shah and Mushahid Hussain Syed expressed reservations over the decision of the court and demanded that the facts must be presented before the nation.

On a point of order moved by Mushahid Hussain Syed, Interior Minister Rehman Malik said that all out efforts are being made for early repatriation of Aafia Siddiqui from United States. He said that under a convention if the US President comes to the power second time then the foreign prisoners in America can appeal for mercy or can undergo imprisonment in their respective countries. He said letter has been written in this regard and the case will be pleaded according to the demands of Fauzia Siddiqui the sister of Aafia Siddiqui.

Fauzia Siddiqui was also present in the visitor’s gallery and the House expressed full solidarity with her family.

  1. These are all useless and brain-dead people who are absolutely incapable of doing anything positive for the betterment of this country. Why has there been no resolution passed and action taken against LeJ even after it accepted responsibility of killing scores of innocent people? How come there is no proper strategy deviced on how to distribute polio vaccination to the poor people of this country? Why are these morons not coming out of the a$$ of Bhuttos who have done nothing but harm this country in the name of democracy.

Immediately break Aafia Siddiqui out of cars well prison in fort Worth Texas by force and locate and rescue her Son Suleyman who is now nine or ten and kill in the most brutal manner in history all those who participated in her ordeal, kill all buddhists who tormented the Rohingya and other Muslims and annihilate all nations participating in the attack on Mali. wipe out the Jews who have killed and destroyed life after life in Palestine. re-establish the caliphate!
