Sindh Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah has congratulated Nawaz Sharif and  Shahbaz Sharif on getting the titles of Takht-e-Punjab and Takht-e-Lahore by Pir Pagara during their visit to Sindh on Tuesday.

Shah pointed out that during their joint news conference, Pir Pagara described Nawaz Sharif (who was standing next to him on his left side) and Shahbaz Sharif (who was standing on his right) as Takht-e-Punjab and Takht-e-Lahore, respectively.

Talking to a delegation of the PPP office-bearers of Sindh, the Sindh chief minister thanked Pir Pagara for giving these titles to the Sharifs that clearly demonstrated their credentials as pigmy politicians who were confined to Punjab and Lahore. Shah wondered how could the Sharif brothers do something good for the people of Sindh when their own allies from Sindh were making it known to all and sundry that the Sharifs had a narrow vision and a limited political agenda confined to Punjab.

The chief minister added, “The alliances Nawaz is making for Sindh in the upcoming general election will not help him bag even a single seat from Sindh because the people of Sindh know him quite well as a product of Gen Zia’s martial law. They know he abandoned Pakistan after striking an exile deal with General (r) Musharraf in the hour of trial unlike Asif Ali Zardari, who preferred to spend 14 years in jail instead of compromising on principles.”
