Fresh spell of precipitation from Wednesday

Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) on Tuesday forecasted a fresh spell of rain and snowfall in mountainous regions of the country from Wednesday.

According to PMD, a fresh westerly wave would persist for two days that would result in widespread rains followed by thunderstorms with snowfall over the hills in Khyber Pakhtunkhawa (KP) and scattered heavy rainfalls in Peshawar, Kohat and Bannu divisions.

Scattered rain/thunderstorm is also expected in Northeast Balochistan including Quetta, Zhob, Kalat and Sibbi divisions during the next 24 hours.

During this time isolated rains are expected different parts of Punjab including Rawalpindi and Gujranwala divisions.

During the past 24 hours, weather remained cold, overcast and dry in most parts of the country. However isolated rain lashed Malakand, Quetta and Khuzdar divisions.

Lowest minimum temperatures recorded during this time were: Parachinar -05 Centigrade in ,Astoore -03 centigrade in Mirkhani and -01 degrees in Skardu.
