Don’t interfere in PTI polls; Imran warns Sharifs

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan on Tuesday said terrorists were roaming freely in Punjab but the Punjab government was using the law enforcers to sabotage the PTI polls.
Addressing thousands of charged and emotional PTI workers at the party’s central secretariat in Islamabad, Imran Khan urged the party workers to remain calm.

“Sharifs harmed the democratic system by indulging in corrupt practices, promoted ‘lotacracy’ and by supporting Zardari regime. Nawaz Sharif is hell-bent on reaching the power corridors at all costs. Nawaz is ready to forge electoral alliances with banned outfits and even going with ‘Maulana Diesel’,” said Imran Khan, adding that now the Sharifs wanted to sabotage the PTI polls.

“Sharifs are suffering from PTI phobia and they are crossing all limits of decency. They are afraid of the PTI this is the party which is working to introduce real democracy in Pakistan,” he said, adding that the Sharifs had a history of using Punjab Police for their political gains and interests. He, however, vowed that this practice would not be allowed to continue anymore.

Imran Khan said that the police should not be blamed for this ugly, irresponsible and ill-mature move, but he said that it was actually the Punjab government, which was responsible for this act, as it dictated the force to thwart the
party polls.

“It is responsibility of the police to restore law and order and to ensure protection to life and property of the people in the country, but in total contradiction to it, the Punjab police have resorted to sabotage the holding of the PTI polls without any reason,” he added.

Khan said that the PML-N wreaked havoc with the country by doing massive corruption during the past five years and now it was suffering from tsunami-phobia due to which it was leaving no stone unturned to bar the PTI from holding intra-party polls.”

“As the PTI is going to introduce new culture in the country politics by holding intra-party elections, which turns to be a nightmare for leadership of other dynastic political parties that never hold the party polls, fearing that the workers of their respective parties may start pointing fingers at them for not holding party polls,” Imran added.

Condemning the interference of Rawalpindi Police and PMLN-led Punjab government in the PTI elections, Imran Khan said that stopping the PTI party elections merely by an order issued by the Rawalpindi CPO was surprising, as the police officer had no authority to do so.

“The dynastic leaders see the culture of intra-party polls a direct threat to their hold over the parties and thus they would use all means to stop the process, warning the PML N not to sabotage the party polls or be ready to face the wrath of charged PTI workers,” Imran Khan maintained.

Imran Khan warned that the dynastic parties and their aristocratic leadership must bear in mind that the PTI would put an end on the cooked and rotten culture of bringing their children in the politics and ruling the country turn-by-turn. He said that the intra-party polls would be held on Thursday.

Meanwhile, Imran Khan felicitated the party workers on successful completion of the second phase of the intra-party polls in Punjab Province, saying that a bright and dazzling future awaited the PTI and soon the dark nights of atrocities and brutality would be over and a new era would usher in when the plunderers and burglars would run to save their skins.

The PTI chairman said that his party will seek help from the Election Commission of Pakistan and the Supreme Court if needed. He assured his party workers that intra-party elections would be held despite all the hurdles. He said that after two days party elections would take place in Islamabad instead of Punjab to avoid any action by Punjab Police.
He said that Sharifs were pursuing politics of inheritance. He said, “We are determined to end the politics of inheritance.”
