Ministry of Water and Power has constituted a Committee headed by a member of WAPDA to probe the massive power breakdown of Sunday night. The 4-member committee will submit its report in 7 days. The probe was ordered by the Prime Minister.
Tripping of 1200 megawatt HUBCO power plant on Sunday night led to the breakdown. Meanwhile power has been restored in most parts of the country and efforts are underway to restore power supply throughout the country. The Secretary Water and Power Rai Sikandar said production of 5800 megawatts of electricity has been restored while work is underway to overcome the remaining shortfall
