Sindh Assembly witnesses shortest session

The Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) on Monday strongly protested outside the Sindh Assembly, which was suddenly adjourned until February 27th, with what the MQM alleged was an ulterior motive to deprive the party from raising the burning issue relating to the setting up of Hyderabad University.
Treasury sources said that the assembly session was adjourned for lack of quorum.
MQM’s Faisal Sabzwari on this occasion registered his strong protest and said that the session was hastily adjourned and the action had made a mockery of the Sindh Assembly.
He further said that the Bill for setting up of six universities was approved by the Sindh Assembly with the full support of MQM, while the Hyderabad University issue was being evaded for one reason or the other. He said that by adjourning the session due to ulterior motive, parliamentary conventions were being torn into shreds.
