Rain for Malakand, DI Khan Divisions predicted: Met Office

The Met Office on Monday predicted rain with light snowfall over hills at different places at western parts of Khyber Pakthunkhwa (KP) including Malakand and DI Khan divisions during next 24 hours.

According to the Met Office, a fresh westerly wave was likely to approach western and upper parts of the country during evening and night and likely to persist for two to three days.

Mainly cold and dry weather was expected in most parts of the country. However, the Met Office announced that rain with light snowfall over the hills was likely at isolated places of North Balochistan (Quetta, Zhob, Kalat divisions), western parts of KP including Malakand and DI Khan divisions during evening and night. Similarly, rain-thunderstorms with snowfall over the hills was expected at different places in north Balochistan, KP, Punjab, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan today (Tuesday). Light snowfall over the hills of Malamjabba and Kalam was also expected, the Met Office said.

In next 48 hours, scattered rain with snowfall over the hills was expected in` upper KP, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan, while isolated rain was likely in upper Punjab on Wednesday.

Weather remained cold and dry in most parts of the country during last 24 hours.  The lowest temperature was recorded at Parachinar -6C followed by Astore -4C, Hunza  -2C, Dir & Skardu  -1C and pollen count remained 21 per cubic meter.
