Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Punjab President Mian Manzoor Wattoo has alleged that terrorists have safe havens in Punjab from where they operate and target innocent people and public installations across the country.
He was talking to media persons after condoling the death of Dr Ali Haider with his family. Manzoor Wattoo warned the Punjab government that if it did not take action against banned organizations holed up in different localities of the province, then federal government would be forced to intervene and take action against terrorists.
He asserted that Punjab government refusal regarding presence of terrorists in the province instead of taking actions against them was a matter of grave concern as it has further strengthened the militants and provided them opportunity to continue terror activities.
The PPP provincial president blamed that chief minister has contacts with terrorists and he might want to use for success in general elections that is why he was avoiding any action against them. Manzoor Wattoo said that PPP government was well aware of the grievancesb of the masses and it imposed governor rule in Balochistan and accepted the demand of deployment of army in Quetta when the elected government failed to provide security to the people of the province.
Commenting over the recent differences with Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM), he said that it was part of democratic system and they were hopeful that reservations of MQM leadership would be removed soon and it would be again in alliance with PPP.
