Malik seeks Indian apology over Manzar Imam goof-up

Interior Minister Rehman Malik on Monday called for an apology from the Indian government for showing slain Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) MPA Manzar Imam as a mastermind behind blasts in Indian Hyderabad.

Talking to journalists, Malik said that the MQM was a political party which had nothing to do with Hyderabad bombing.

“If India has any evidence to back this claim, they should share it with Pakistan,” he said.

On Sunday, the Indian security agencies alleged that Manzar Imam was the mastermind of twin Hyderabad blasts which killed 16 people last week.

Without any verification, the reactive Indian media immediately published the picture of Manzar Imam.

Interestingly, Manzar Imam was killed in a drive-by shooting in Karachi last month.
