The members of the Hyderabad Gymkhana have elected Javed Iqbal Junejo as the President for yet another term in the elections 2013-14, according to the results announced on Monday.
Haji Nisar Memon and Dr Shams Shaikh have been elected as secretary
and treasurer respectively, according to the election convenor Major (R) Umer Farooq Ahmed Khan. The elections were held on Sunday.
A total of six candidates of two groups led by Junejo and Dr Agha
Taj Muhammad contested for the seats of the president, secretary and treasurer. Another 26 candidates vied for the 11 seats of members of the managing committee. Dr. Zulfiqar Yousfani, Dr. Mohammad Hussain Laghari, Azam Ismail, Abdul Jalil Memon, Mohammad Bashir Nizamani, Abdul Salam Memon, Rafique Ahmed Memon, Asif Ahmed Memon, Sajid Ali Bhutto and Dr. Muhammad Saleem Memon were elected as the member managing committee.

CONGRATULATIONS to all those who have won. The elections are now over, and I hope that 'raat gai, baat gai'. Onwards, all the members & elected and non-elected contestants, together ought to work together for the betterment of the club. All the elected office bearers are required to forget the panels they belonged to, and should just remember that they have undertaken the responsibility of fulfilling the promises they had made during their campaigns, and that the club's interest must lie above all personal affiliations and panel attachments, whatsoever.
