The Sindh Inspector General of Police (IGP) Fayyaz Ahmed Leghari has taken notice of media reports regarding traffic jams on the busy roads and the increasing incidents of snatching and other related street crimes in the metropolitan.
This was pointed out in a police statement issued here on Monday.
It said that the IGP directed the Karachi Additional IG and the Additional IG Traffic to ensure putting in place proper security measures and smooth flow of traffic.
The statement said that the IGP had also sought a detailed report in this regard.
IGP Fayyaz directed the officials concerned to make arrangements to ensure smooth flow of traffic and in case there was any traffic jam, then alternative routes could be used to resolve the problem.
He said that the Section Officers Traffic concerned should contact the officers of the respective police station for provision of security to the citizens.
The IGP further directed vigilant patrolling by the motorcycle squads of the city police.
