The 9th Convocation of the Greenwich University was held here on Sunday evening to distribute degrees among students of different disciplines.
The Vice-Chancellor of the institution, Seema Mughal, presided over the ceremony. Degrees to 147 Undergraduates and 129 Graduates in the disciplines of Business Administration, English and Mass Communication and Media Studies were conferred.
In all, there were 12 recipients of the sponsored gold medals. Sponsoring dignitaries awarded gold medals donated by Haroon Agar, President Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Aqeel Karim

Munir, Chairman, Din Group of Industries, Safdar Yasin Malik, Chairman, Hilton Pharma, Mohsin Ali Nathani, Chief Executive Officer Standard Chartered Bank (Pakistan) Limited, Sirajuddin Aziz, President and Chief Executive Officer, Habib Metropolitan Bank, Amber Haroon Saigol, Chairperson Dawn Media Group.
The Vice Chancellor, Seema Mughal, in her address maintained that Greenwich University occupies a unique and outstanding position among the universities of the country solely through students and teachers dedication towards higher education and research. She said that the University last year celebrated its Silver Jubilee, the 25 years of academic excellence and its celebrations included gala events, cultural activities, it also raised funds for SSWAB Trust.
Students also won Basketball, Table Tennis, Cricket and Futsul tournaments organised by IBA, Aga Khan University and HEC during 2011 and 2012. The Convocation was largely attended by the elite of the city, prominent businessmen, government officials and the parents of the graduating students.
