Former president General (r) Pervez Musharraf said he would contest upcoming elections from Chitral.
The All Pakistan Muslim League (APML) chief expressed these views in a telephonic conversation with a delegation of Chitrali students. On the occasion, APML leaders Asiya Ishaq, Haji Qayyum Lal, Sher Jehan, Ali Raza and Imtiaz Ali Shah were also present.
The Chitralis were famous for loyalty to the country and were hardworking, laborious and peaceful citizens, he added.
The former president said he believed that the Chitralis had deep love for him and vice versa. He said that during his tenure as the president, hefty funds were spent on installation of basic infrastructure, especially for the construction of roads.
He said that the country’s future was in the hands of the youth and the Chitrali students should play their vibrant role in supporting him to transform the country into a welfare state.
Speaking on the occasion, APML Central Information Secretary Asiya Ishaq said that amid deteriorating law and order situation, Chitral remained peaceful and the religious harmony in Chitral was quite impressive and an example for the people of other parts of the country.
