Attorney General (AG) Irfan Qadir said president and prime minister (PM) are not answerable to any court.
Talking to media personnel on Saturday, the AG said President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf had not filed any joint report in the court in connection with the Quetta tragedy. Media reports in this regard are incorrect, he added.
He went on to say that a report was presented in the court on behalf of federation of Pakistan under article 174 of the constitution.
He was of the view that the president and the prime minister are the top most figures of the country and certain responsibilities have been rested with them under the constitution. They hold the mandate to ensure all the institutions of the country function within constitutional parameters, he said.
