Sardar Ahmed declared opposition leader in Sindh Assembly

Sindh Assembly Speaker Nisar Khuhro on Friday appointed Syed Sardar Ahmed as Leader of the Opposition in the house.

A notification was issued by the Sindh Assembly Secretariat in this regard.

MQM had picked Sardar Ahmed for the top opposition slot after it parted ways with the PPP, citing Sindh Government’s decision to withdraw criminal cases against Lyari-based gangsters.

Sardar had been serving as parliamentary leader of the MQM in the provincial assembly.

On Friday, PPP revoked the Sindh People’s Local Government Ordinance (SPLGO) 2012 despite a strong protest from the MQM.
