Around a thousand passionate followers of Basant festival were arrested in a police crackdown and 150 cases were registered on Friday.
According to SSP Operation Sadiq Dogar, police raided various areas of the city and arrested almost a thousand people who were flying kites and celebrating Basant, registering 150 cases in different police stations during the course of the day.
Police also seized kites and flying chords from the detained people.
The accused were in violation of the Anti-Kite Flying Act.
