Car-jackers nabbed, vehicles and narcotics seized

A spokesman for the Islamabad Police on Thursday stated that they had arrested nine outlaws from various areas of the city including five car thieves and recovered stolen as well as tampered vehicles, wine and narcotics from their possession,
According to details, Mussarat called the Kohsar police station to inform police regarding the theft of his van (LOK-1170) from Jinnah Super market.
Following his call, Station House Officer (SHO) of Kohsar police Sajjad Hussain Bukhari constituted a special team under his supervision including Sub-Inspector Muhammad Arshad and others.
The team cordoned off the area and checked suspected vehicles suddenly finding a van near F-7/1 bearing fake number plates which were changed soon after theft of the vehicle.
Police arrested one occupant Latif while the other managed to escape whose name was told as Shoaib.
Similarly, Koral police arrested four car thieves who stole a vehicle numbered (MV-223) belonging to Safdar and then demanded Rs. 200,000 from him to return the vehicle. A team supervised by Sub-Inspector Muhammad Abbas was constituted that arrested four car thieves identified as Babar Hussain resident of Ali Pur Islamabad, Nayyer Iqbal resident of Taramri Islamabad, Mustafa and Zarab Ahmed residents of Kotli Sattian.
IGP Islamabad Bani Amin Khan and SSP Yaseen Farooq have announced cash prizes and commendation certificates for policemen who arrested the car thieves.
The IGP stated that effective measures were being ensured to curb car theft incidents, adding that significant decline has been witnessed in such incidents owing to the hard work of policemen.
